The project involved the full strip out and refurbishment of five floors at The University of Birmingham’s Gisbert Kapp Building.
The package included fitting out new laboratories for the Psychology department and the provision of new teaching rooms and meeting/conference rooms, with all new acoustic panelling installed. New tea points were also added to each floor, utilising high-quality finishes and featuring ‘green’ walls. For the Sports Science department, a gym was installed, incorporating treatment rooms and massage areas.
Also included in the project was the refurbishment of the toilets on the top floors and the installation of new unisex toilets on the 1st and 2nd Floors.
Fire holding lobbies were created to comply with the new Fire Strategy for the building which included firestopping throughout, and which was undertaken to full certification to BM TRADA standards.
